Shopping Local

I’m a firm believer in shopping local. There’s no better way to support your community than visiting those independent merchants who put in countless hours to bring their products and services to you. During the summer, I enjoy frequenting the farmer’s markets.  The one close to home has a great mixture of farmers and vendors, selling a variety of products that extend beyond produce.

But buying local can extend to writers too.  This Friday evening, October 28, a group of dedicated authors will converge upon the Barnes & Nobles store in Muskegon, MI from 6 to 9.  Here’s your chance to meet some very talented people, talk about their efforts and pick up an autographed copy.  I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a generous supply of goodies to be had as well.

So if you’re a mystery fan, stop by and say hello. It’s a great opportunity to pick up the perfect Christmas present for all the readers you know.

And since it's only a few days before Halloween, this is a shot from my costume last year. I promise to leave this one behind.
